Where to add a 10" sub in a '98 Town Car?
I've got an extra 10" sub, and 2 channel 400 watt RMS amp.
I'm just looking for a little more punch right now. Later on I'll add a 4 channel amp, better component speakers, and some tweeters. But for now, how would I install this 10" sub? I'm going for quality, rather than loudness. Thanks for any suggestions. |

Most folks just throw a sub-box in the trunk with fair interior quality results.
I can't see any reason to replace mine, but if I had to do it, I would use a box mounted close to the rear seat.

Thanks, I'll consider putting it in the trunk. The 10" sub I've got is already in a truck box, I wonder how it'll sound with that box in the trunk. I'm looking for a real crisp bass.
Ya know, I noticed right inbetween the rear speakers, in the trunk, there is a hole cut out for a speaker. Does anyone know what size speaker it is meant for? Thanks |

Quote:
A Sub woofer is only allowed to produce the lowest end of the spectrum, not at all crisp by any means. You really wont even be able to tell where the Sub Woofer is mounted when it's getting the correct spectrum, properly amplified. All that said... that hole in the center... you're missing your factory Sub Here's an excerpt from the 1998 FSM, you can get a copy from my webpage:
