Do i need new shocks?

So when i go over a ditch (not a big ditch) i wack the crap out of my bump stops. It seems like its way soft and springy in the rear end... is this because i took my spare tire rack and all of that junk off back there or should i just slow down or get new shocks or something? Also my rear end is now alot higher than the front..... im sure thats from the 150 lbs of rack and tire i took off right, but i want to even it out somehow
