Vacuum Line Removal

Has anybody done this? If you remove all of the vacuum lines except a few chosen ones, do you get a CEL?
http://web.archive.org/web/200406211.../emissions.htm
I found this on Tuners along w/ this one (idk if I'm suppose to be posting this one since it is a link to Tuners, if I'm not suppose to then a Mod can just delete the link)
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/arti...ml#post1650860

I've been thinking about doing it, any ideas?

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

Im sure you would. All the emisions vac. lines are removed. I would be willing to be you would get one. But does it really matter? Mine stays on all the time bc of the emissions being removed but it doesn't bother me.

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

Ned, 1980 posts is about 1975 too many to be posting every new thread you have in the main (O/T) forum. I realize this is a greyish area thread, but it sure as hell is not a OT thread either. Seriously dude, use the subforums.

I've done this on my Talon and yes, you will get a CEL, more than one I think.

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

I don't see how this thread fits into the performance subforum since it does nothing to improve the performance of our cars. IF it should go into any subforum, it should go into the appearance subforum, o wait we don't have one. The reason for removing all the vacuum lines is to make the engine bay look better and to simplify things a bit, so why does it matter where I put this thread because the only sub I can see it going into is the main OT area.

There is no way to pass inspection w/ a CEL so why would doing this make any sense?

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

That would be sweet, you mean that some states don't even do inspections?

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

Why not just remove all of them and then put them back when you have inspection. That only like once a yr or something right?

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

Basically when you install a SMIM, you are deleting most if not all of the lines in that link.

It may not have to with making the car faster or more powerful, but it does have something to do with how the car works or performs. Regardless, please use your best judgement, I have enought noobie threads to move without having to clean up after some of our valued OG's as well. Thank you Nedwin

But yeah, MN doesnt have any inspections at all. If we did, the Talon would be FUCKED.

Not necessarily. Where I'm from anything 95 and older, doesnt matter.

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

I had removed all the lines on my 91 GSX, except the one that runs to the AFPR, bov, etc. I never got a cel. I also removed all those stupid EVAP relays.

Re: Vacuum Line Removal

What exactly do they do when they inspect it, do they plug into the car to see if you have any CEL's, or do they just check the dash light? If they just check the light, just disconnect the damn bulb. No inspections in ND either, so this is all new to me.
