This is what i have have done to try to fix the problem. Balance tires-three times-tires are stock size. Changed out all of the u joints.....all of them removed my front propeller shaft changed out the idler arm alignment checked disks and pads.... i am still getting the VIBRATION and it is drving me crazy! I found the front bumper bolt was loose and i tightened it, Still vibrates. Anyone please help me please. I live in CA so you know that going 70 on the freeway is slow and it is annoying the hell out of me. Thanks guys..... |

Re: Still have the vibration........
Tires on Toyotas need to balanced using a lug centric method rather than the normal hub centric. Find a shop that has the Haweka lug adapter for their machine.
Don't be surprised if your Toyota dealer has no clue. Then tell them to read Toyota TSB SU002-96. Then go somewhere else that does.

Re: Still have the vibration........
Not sure what type of "vibration" you have, High frequency or body vibration?
High frequency or drive line vibration on this year can be caused by, ready for this? A lose nut! No not you, the large retaining nut on the rear output flange! Need to remove the ujoint and tighten it to the specified torque and you problem is solved. Don’t wait too long or the splines on the out put shaft will wear. Hope this does it. Repost and let us know! |

Re: Still have the vibration........
I also have a 94 4Runner and had the same problem a few years back, it turned out to be that one of the bolts was broken on my front skid plate, hooks under your front bumper and continues to your front suspension.
I had to drill it out and use an easy out to get it and then tapped it and put in a new bolt. Once I got that fixed the vibration left and hasn't come back so far. Good Luck OzzyO
