01 Cvpi low lowend power

Hi All, I wanted to get some opinions on what could be causing low end power and knocking issues with this car. It's an 01 with 78k that's been sitting for a while which runs great at higher rpm's. Let me start by saying what's been replaced. I replaced one of the cat converters, all the cop's & plugs, IAC, MAF and the gas filter and drained all the gas out of the tank.

Any other suggestions? Thank you

Hey Kev. By any chance is the transmission starting in second gear instead of first? Just a thought.

Re: 01 Cvpi low lowend power

nope. But I did learn a little more today W2O. I did a compression test and the entire passenger's side has zero compression. Driver's side is normal. Since it seems to run Ok at idle and higher rpms is it a safe assumption that the timing is probably 180 degrees off on the passenger's side or could it be off a tooth in either direction? Ran out of day light when I realized this info. Thank you

If you have no compression on your right engine bank then it isnt timing.you have four valves open or broken compression rings. My guess it the latter. How long was this engine sitting???

01 Cvpi low lowend power

I finally got around to doing the teaspoon of oil test late today and still no compression so it should be valve related (theoretically). I have the valve cover off and the cam seems to be turning correctly and pushing down but I'll need to look at it closer next chance I have. Are the cams known for going? Seems impossible that the cam would go & effect an entire bank so I'm confused as to what the state did to screws this car up.

BTW it was probably sitting for a year or 2.
