Post Garge Defend Silvia ***progress***

OK, I've started fettling the resin bits and fitting them. All of the ugly mold tags are gone, and the front and rear pieces are on.

Starting at the front, the picture below shows the general fit and shape

It's not bad, but a few things need sorting. First is the ugly fit along the hood open line. I'll add a thin strip of styrene along the join and blen it in with putty (thanks to FOTW for this tip!)

Next the fit around the lights is not great. Below you can see (forgive the photo, my macro lens is not to good), I have added a strip of thin styrene around the front of the light to make the gap much smaller. Next I will add a final skim of putty to close everything right up.

The rear piece fit is quite good, I had to rework the license plate recess a bit so it lined up with the recess in the plastic. The main problem is the wheel arches. They are the wrong shape and don't line up with the body

Please bear in mind the photo above is the good side! So, more styrene strips will be used to recreate the curve of the arch, and then some a putty skim to blend them in.

After that, I can start thinking about the sugery needed to make the side skirts fit. No wonder Fujimi list this as a skill 5 kit!!!

Looks like this won't cause too much drama, you've done a good job thus far. The moldings look very good. Don't know if you have already, but i recommend test fitting the headlight lenses as you play around with fitting and modding the front bumper. From the looks of things in the pic, you may find that alot of work is not necessary as the lenses may help disguise poor fitment.
