Question 2007 focus se

I am wanting to put a remote start on this car for the wife, and I need to know if I need a bypass or not?? Best Buy says no, Circuit City says yes, the dealer wherer I bought it says they dont know if it has the chip inside the key or not, because apparently they nothing about the focus, only know everything about every other ford ever made. Thanks in advance!

Re: 2007 focus se

SHould be fairly simple.

Is the key end big and fat like the one on the left? Is the FOB built into the key? If so, pretty good chance it is chipped.

Is the key a simple metal/plastic key like the one on the right? If so, probably not chipped.

Go to you local hardware store (even walmart) and ask them to make a key, they will tell you.

Hope this helps.

Roger
