Re: problem!!!

Could likely be the main relay. Have you tried starting it since?

Re: problem!!!

Check all fuses under your dash and engine bay first..all meaning, every single one.

Re: problem!!!

for the main relay... if you don't hear a click, you car's bein a dick.

Someone please come up w/ a better catch phrase for that common problem... and make it rhyme.

Re: problem!!!

Its behind the change holder, left of the steering wheel. Inside the dash.

Re: problem!!!

Main relay is right above the hood release lever.

Re: problem!!!

just listen for a click when you turn the car on, before you try to start it... does it even crank? or no crank at all?

If you hear the click, watch for your check engine light to blink, it will come on, then blink off after about 1 second.. (it's the ECU test sequence)

Re: problem!!!

have you checked to see if the battery has any juice in it?

if nothing else is wrong (fuses), then, yes, it's the main relay.

Re: problem!!!

When you say, "Car won't start," Does it crank at all? Is there power or lights in your dash? Can you describe fully? Did you check your ecu for codes?

Re: problem!!!

Ecu is under the carpet on the passenger footwell. Pull it back and look in the little window in the middle, a red led will blink if you have codes, count the blinks, with short pauses between each code. And a long pause when the sequence restarts. Read it 2-3 times to make sure.

Re: problem!!!

well, if you know there's no fuel going to the engine, you should already know how to fix it.. there aren't too many parts to the fuel system...

after you crank on it for awhile, do you smell gas?
if you do, it's getting fuel... check your plugs/wires/dizzy/rotor for spark, debris, burns, etc. check your timing belt... (if it's broken, the cam isn't spinning, so no spark, and the engine will still crank, but it will sound funny)

Hrm.. trying to think of other things.. you hear the relay, do you hear the fuel pump prime? have someone turn the key on and listen w/ your head in the trunk area, for a buzzing noise.

only other thing I can think of is ground wires. check them all. there is one on the engine valve cover, goes to rad bracket... there is one on the tranny, goes to under battery tray, and there is one bolted to the thermostat housing, check any others you find, they can stop your vehicle from starting,

but as of now, the mechanic is sounding correct... seems like no spark, or no fuel.
