Driving lights and high beams

It is common with vehicles to "defeat" the driving lights when the high beams are selected. This may be a D.O.T. requirement-don't know that. But I used to own a Pontiac that I altered so I could use any combination of driving/headlights. I found out which wire in which harness to clip thereby preventing the two circuits from talking to each other. Anyone out there done this on a Jeep wiring harness? 1999 Wrangler TJ. Thanks.

Behind the glove box (on TJ' s) are two relays. The one on the left is for the driving/fog lights. Pull it out and bend over the #2 pin and re-install. You should have the lights when you want.

Re: Driving lights and high beams

Wranglers don't come with driving lights, they come with fog lights, 2 entirely different things. fog lights are designed for use with the low beams, and should be mounted low. Driving lights are kind of auxiliary high beams, should only be used when there is no oncoming traffic, and work well mounted higher.
