you know, i'm looking for the same engine swap....unfortunately my car is still under warranty....the 8V SPI Engine and the Zetec-E Engine are (i think) the same crankcase....if it is, you might wanna just get a Zetec-E head set and convert your SPI Engine to a Zetec-E Engine.

focus engine swap

Replying to KeleKe, the 2.0L blocks in the Ford Focus are not the same, totally different for the set up the Dohc 16 valve and the 8 valve, as a ford master tech i have seen these engines in and out:smoker2:

Ford Focus engine swap

Thanks BigCheech I taught they had the same crankcase (121 CID) meaning that the heads could be swapped with a little conversion or "block" remolding...Anyways... Would or could it be possible to install a Zetec-E Engine into a Focus that has/had an 8V SPI Engine in it? I need help in this area here.

sure swapping out the spi for the zetec will be alot easier...all the mounts are the same, you would need to swap out the pcm and engine wire harness. A friend of mine and i are actually going to do the swap to his car this coming weekend:sun:

Ford Focus engine swap

haha, small fortune huh? hehe, well thanks again mate. I did however find an internet resource that says it is possible to turbocharge an SPI Engine. I'm gonna do a little bit more researching on this before i end up doing something wonderful or something drastic...lol Thanks again!

Yeah I know this is old but I see it best that you stick with the SPI. Why swap for 20 more hp and 10 more tq? If you haven't been stop by www.focaljet.com and visit the SPI Forums. We already have a supercharged SPI and many more going turbo. There is stuff for the SPI you just have to search for it.

If you want to do a swap you can swap with the SVTC 2.5l duratech, or the v8 conversion Now thats power for you to swap to and then add boostah
