Welcome to the forum!

So during your search did you stumble across the self test procedure for the Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC)? I'd start there. Run the EATC self-diagnostics and see if it points to anything in particular.

Re: No heat control 97 EXPLORER EDDIE BAUER

I pulled the EATC out and one of the small gears was striped. I had some nasty word in my head when trying to fit my big hands in the tiny space. To top it all off I used a large screwdriver to pry the last bolt out in the FAR back! Then to really piss me off the 2 in front were 8mm the one in the back 9mm. Thats why I couldnt fit the socket on the last one so I glued back the small piece of plastic the I broke! Now to find one of these thing and hope they are not a arm and a leg!
