another ignition switch question, Please Help!
When I turn the key, it did nothing (lights did not dim at all). "Security" Light blinked. From advice from this forum, I did the resistor matching my key resistance on the wires thing (Thank you, made me look like a pro to my friends).
This worked. Car started each time. Forward Couple months: Car intermittently doesn't start (Doesn't start on first or second try, but then does). In the last week, it has started most times, except three. Once the light was not on. Once the light blinked. Once the light stayed on (waited the 3 minutes and it went off and started). When it worked with the resistor, it was the ignition switch (VATS Reader). Could it still be the switch even tho all three security light scenarios are happening? What the light does is supposed to tell a lot of what's wrong. How do I figure it out if all are happening? Thank you for any replys, Chris. |

Re: another ignition switch question, Please Help!
I'd check the connections on the resistor. Once you do the bypass the ignition switch has nothing to do with the security system.

Re: another ignition switch question, Please Help!
So if the security system has nothing to do with it, wouldn't that mean it must be in the ignition switch?
I will check the wires and post back what I find. Thank you for helping me and any others who check this thread. Chris. |
