Question Drivers Side Window Motor

I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 4dr. I have been trying to get around to replacing the drivers side motor. I think it is the problem because when I roll up the windows, the drivers window is substantially slower than the others. There is also a horrible screech sound when I do roll up and roll down the windows. If the window is wet say after a rain the sound is not there. Has anyone taken the door apart, and if so do you have any instructions or tips. Any advice would be appreciated

Re: Drivers Side Window Motor

You probably need a window regulator assembly. The window is cable driven, and the guides wear out and/or the cables start to fray causing slow operation and noises. I don't have a proceedure handy regretfully, but I'm sure there's one out there. The hardest part is getting the door panel off.
