transmission problems with 2002 trailblazer, more detail added

2002 chevy trailblazer won't pull in reverse, but pulls in first, second, and third. automatic transmission, 81,000 miles, fluid level full, has over drive, no codes, no check engine lights, 2W drive, the reverse acts like neutral but all other gears work, a friend has same model and make, there's will not drive at all, towed to dealership and fix, i know it sounds funny but there problem was the fan clutch, thanks, don't know which way to turn!

Auto or standard transmission?
Fluid level?
Fluid and filter condition?
Have you got OD?
Any codes?
Check engine lights?
4W or 2W
Does it slip or is it locked up in reverse

Re: transmission problems

If fluid level is good and everything but reverse.
Could be sun shell.
They haave a bad habit of stripping out.
Pull pan and see if any metal in pan.
