Leaking Coolant - 2000 Alero 3.4

I have noticed over the last week that when have stopped my car and left the heater on I had a coolant leak. When the heater (or fan??) was switched off there does not appear to be any leak. It apperas to be comming from the coolant pump area. Note also that in the past I have had to add coolant, but mainly in the winter months (when I use the heater!!). Can anyone help me?

Welcome to AF.

Sounds like your water pump maybe going bad.
Their are small holes(weep holes) on the bottom of the pump that leak when the seals are bad.

This link has some directions on the removal of the PS pump.
