Re: Head

This does NOT go in the Tech Article Section...

Also, you don't need to make so many posts about needing a head...

Moved to Performance section to be discussed...

Re: Head

Any head from a 93-94 4g63 (turbo or non-turbo), or any 95-99 turbo head will work. The 90-92 head is a bit different. It will work, but you have to change a few things.

Re: Head

Yeah, though I'm pretty sure all 4g63 heads WILL work, you are going to want to find one from 93-94 for the easiest swap.

Re: Head

Other than the electronics, the only difference between NT and turbo heads are the cams. But I agree with what is said, if you can't find one for a 93-94 you are going to have to do a little modification to make it work.

Re: Head

I pulled this from vfaq.

All 1G 2.0L heads are the same except for the camshafts. Apparantly the 1990 heads had slightly smaller coolant passages, but the difference is not enough to be significant. Also, prepared non-turbo heads had a plug where the turbo oil feed would connect on turbo models.

Re: Head

I'm not aware of any year based change in the 1g heads. A 2g head will be such a pain in the ass to put in a 1g I wouldn't bother (intake manifold and TB, front water pipe, tstat housing and water neck, etc). It's a backwards swap anyway unless it's heavily ported.
