94 T/C Fuel Pump
I went to start my van and it will not start. Cranks but will not start. I can not smell fuel and I do not hear the fuel pump engage when I turn on the key.
SO....I am making an assumption that the fuel pump went..... Does anyone know where I can get help with replacing the pump? Diagrams and instructions? I have a 2wd 3.8l engine and again...assuming that the pump is in the fuel tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Ken [email protected] |

Re: 94 T/C Fuel Pump
No. 1 - Check all fuses to make sure fus is not blown for fuel pump.
No. 2- Check fuel pressure. Check this site for procedure: http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm Post pressure readings. No. 3- Try hitting the bottom of fuel tank with rubber hammer, this may jar the fuel pump to where it may run again (If this does work the fuel pump will need to be replaced.) No. 4- Procedure for fuel tank removal: http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm Hope this helps |

Re: 94 T/C Fuel Pump
Thanks for your reply....I am unable to check the pressure. I just dont have the equipment to do so.
I had heard that some automakers out an inspection plate on the floor that when opened (6-8 screws) gives you access to the tank opening so that you will not have to drop the tank....do you know if the Chrysler has this? Ken |

Re: 94 T/C Fuel Pump
Check with Autozone they may have a fuel pressure tester that you can rent. Have you checked the fuse for the fuel pump?
Have you tried tapping the gas tank to see if fuel pump runs?? even using a board to tap the fuel tank will work. Hate to see you replace parts that do not need to be replaced. |
