Hard shift/Cooler Weather
Hi All,
As the weather has become cooler I have experienced one and sometimes two hard shifts in the morning. Usually happens coming out of a corner while shifting between 2nd & 3rd. I'm not sure if it is the transmission or the anti spin rear end. This doesn't seem to be a problem when the vehicle is warm. This is on a 2007 Dakota V6 with the 4 spd auto. I would like some opinions before I take it in to the dealer. Anyone else experience something like this? Thanks, Mark |

Re: Hard shift/Cooler Weather
4 spd autos have reputation for delayed shifts when cold, Usually 1st thing in morning. I've had cold 1st thing in morning late 1-2 shift since the truck was new.

Re: Hard shift/Cooler Weather
Hey Mikec,
Thanks for your reply. I found out at the dealer (Toronto, Ontario area) that they are supposedly waiting for a reprogram for the transmission from Chrysler. I will post back when I hear that they have it. Mark |

Re: Hard shift/Cooler Weather
I think every Dakota does that when cold. Mine does that until the transmission fluid warms up a little.

Re: Hard shift/Cooler Weather
I have the same problem with my 2000 dakota when cold i did put a new sensor on the transmission last year and it did help , but then this year it just started to do it again, I was going to check the sensor again to see if it will fix it again but i would not think it should go bad within a years time,,plus now its getting warmer out it may be hard to tell untill it gets cold again.
