Air injection pump

I tried to reply to a thread on this subject, but it was closed so I will continue it here.

I have had two of these pumps fail on me at different times. One on each side. I've replaced one and left the other there. It is not necessary to replace. the pump is used to pass some emission tests in the states, but is not required for the car to run smoothly.
