wont start

im gonna buy a 92 bmw 525 for cheap. the car was running and one day, died in the parking lot,was gonna have it towed and came back to get it and supposedly started up and drove home.now it wont start again.sent somebody over[mech] and said it was the fuel pump.engine light was on for long time.is this something easy to fix or could i figure out easely whats wrong with by putting scan tool on it.

fuel pump is pretty easy. There's an access panel in teh trunk, don't have to pull the tank

Check engine light could be on for many reasons. Could be related to the failure, might not be. If you have doubts on the diagnostics, I'd take it to a shop and get it diagnosed by someone you trust/knows what they are doing.

Fuel pump will be a fairly expensive guess otherwise
