2.4 low compression

I’m having trouble diagnosing a 2000 stratus with a 2.4. I just changed the wp and timing belt 2 weeks ago and its been running fine. Yesterday it died when trying to accelerate and wouldn’t restart. I checked the basics and found it had low compression 30-60psi. I pulled the front cover and check the timing marks. Everything was still lined up perfect. I then ran a compression leak down test with a home maid tester. It’s not the best but gives a good indication of troubles. Nothing showed major leakage. I listened to the intake, exhaust, adjacent cylinders and didn’t hear any major air flow. The cylinders were not soaked with antifreeze. What would cause the low compression but check good on a clt test?

Re: 2.4 low compression

I found the cam sprocket alignment pin on the exhaust cam was broke. I removed the cam to try and r&r the pin.
