Next batch of CAR-toons

Here's some of what I've been doodling ...
C&C is more than welcome, there's still so much for me to learn.

Combo layout starting with a photo of my car.
First time I created a layout without any pencil sketches, even the rough draft was done on tablet.
Went without much detailing for this design.

My car as an orange...

An 08 Shelby GT, used a more "wormy-eye" view on this one...

Re: Next batch of CAR-toons

excellent toons. very nice.

the orange car looks too much like a "lemon." I know that wasn't intended.

Wow.. I really love your toons... Really fires up my desire to do some... they're great. Do you do the sketches on a digital pad, or pencil? I still can't use my Wacom as I should. Your detailing... chrome, tires... everything is awesome. Robo

Re: Next batch of CAR-toons

Thanks for the comments.

Changed the "Lemon" toon to be more orangy--the Saleen-Lemon car thing
was a bit too close to the fact in some ways, (I've owned 3 Saleens so I do know).

Robo--I almost always do a few pencil sketches/doodles to get the "feel" of
the car or character I'm drawing.
The blue Shelby is an example where I scan in my best pencil drawing to the bottom layer
and then use it as a guide for the digital drawing above.
This is the original doodle I started and it was a vert with a quick placeholder caricature image (client didn't select this one).

Sometimes I just keep the sketch beside my tablet as a reference, but not for direct guidelines.

The top layout was one of the very few times I did no pencil work before
starting the image.
The blue-lined doodle is the inital draft that I did using the tablet.

I should probably do more initial sketch work using the tablet, but I just
like the better control/flow I have using pencil and pad.

Yeah, some more Stangs! Once again, beautifully done. About the orange...I like the new meaning of the term 'peeling out'! Very original.

Love the '69 Boss influenced striping. The throwback styling of the new Mustang is the best thing Ford has done for awhile. Your orange Saleen is a beauty.
