Quality???

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying a 2000 Impala LS with the 3.8L V6. It has 107,000 miles on it and it was my grandfathers, so i know it was well taken care of. I just wondering how long these cars last or what kind of problems you guys have had. Thanks

Re: Quality???

The problems run the gammut from brakes, intermediate steering shaft, light switches, wheel bearings, coolant issues. Like any car listed in all forums here. The big question is price vs condition because these problems don't show up on every Impala...107k seems normal for the year and could last to 200, 300k if taken care of well.. $3000 or less would be a good deal but 4gs if excellent...My opinion for the LS

Re: Quality???

Generally a good car, I've been happy with my 2000 3.8L. Like ragtop said, those are the common problems, but not every car has all of them of course.
