smelling gas
I've got a 2000 lumina with 75,000 miles on it. Within the last week or so, I've been catching a wif of gasoline every now and then when i'm stopped. Tonight, the car was sitting idle in the driveway for about 5 minutes and when i came out, it stank like gas inside and outside the car. Any idea what's goin on here?? Any suggestions would help.
Thanks!

Re: smelling gas
I have a 96 and a few years ago I had to replace the gas filler tube. It had some rust on it and When ever gas was added some would seep out and there was a smell outside the car. If the tank was filled the odor was inside as well.

I've just noticed the same on my 96 lumina. I think my problem is,is the gas cap itself. (saw some dampness when I took it off) |
