Tranny issue

Good morning gents. I am having a tranny issue out of my 95 monte 3.1. A couple of weeks ago I was turning on my street kind of fast and had to stop really suddenly cause of a oncoming car. I felt something jump under the hood and when I parked I saw a trail of fluid spray halfway down my street. I went check it out and it smelled like tranny fluid. I let the car sit a few days cause of rain and then jacked it up to find the leak and could not find one. I even cranked the car up and went through the gears and still nothing so I took it around the block and it ran fine. Note: I check the fluid 3 times during all of this and it was normal. That night I took a chance and took it to work and it started to slip on the highway. It slipped on and off all the way to my job and when I got there I check the tranny fluid again and it was really low. I added some tranny and it slipped about 5 more times between the store and my job and then ran fine the rest of the night. Note: I deliver newspapers and my job site is about 45 minutes from my house. The car made it all the way home with no issues which is making me think I may not need a new transmission. What do you guys think? I havent driven it again since it happen about 2 weeks ago and I really need to get it back on the road. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Nick

Re: Tranny issue

Welcome to AF. Either there is a leak or not, where did the fluid go, get it up on a lift and look at the lines and also look in the cooling system for possible problems with the cooler in the radiator., If it was actually slipping this may turn into a bigger problem.
