Key Fob

well i bought my pt used back in june and the dealer promised me a key fob and have yet to recieve it and its nov. im to the point where i will just buy one online. my only concern is can i do it myself without having a prior one? and if possible what are the steps?

As far as I know you need two programmed keys to program a third. Otherwise it has to be programmed at a Chrysler/dodge/jeep dealer with a special computer that connects to the obdII connector under the dash.
If you have two good keys put the first into the ign and turn it to the on (not start) position and wait for the little red light in the dash to go out. Within 10 seconds do the same thing with the second key. Do the same for the third (unprogrammed) key but wait for the light to blink and go out. The third key should be programmed. If the light blinks fast or fails to come on and go out you need to repeat the process. It is best to wait at least 30 seconds before trying again.
