96 5.7vortec misfire
I have a 1996 silverado with 5.7vortec. Engine code shows no.6 cylinder misfire. I have done a complete tune-up and the problem is still there. Under full throttle or when accelerating it seems to run great. With cruise set or when lugging engine it feels like a dead cylinder. What do you guys think-cam,crank sensor-head gasket-burnt valve? It uses no oil and has good oil pressure but it does have 230,000 miles on it. Thanks!

Re: 96 5.7vortec misfire
Sounds like weak compression. Check the cylinder with a compression gauge - also check adjacent cylinders.
