86 Digital Speedometer Dim?

Hi! I am the proud new owner of a 1986 T-Bird (63,000 original miles) and the digital speedometer/odometer is dim and hard to see. If there is good lighting on the dash (such as direct sunshine), it's easy to see and the numbers all form correctly, but otherwise it is hard to see and is impossible at night. Is there a bulb or bulbs burned out behind the display or does it need to be removed and sent out for repair? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Evan

I don't know for sure but I would imagine that there are bulbs that you can replace when you remove the cluster from the dash.
