Angry Help with alarm

Just bought a 2000 GMC Jimmy . The alarm is arming itself. I you unlock the doors with the remote in a couple of minutes it will rearm itself. You can hit the unlock it will disarm but in a coumle minutes it will rearm again and if you open the door it will go off. The guy I bought it from said it started doing this after he put in a new battery In the Jimmy. Some help would be great I,m ready to cut the wires on this thing.

Re: Help with alarm

Is this a factory alarm? From the sounds of it, it isn't. Either way, most likly when he pulled the battery, he reset the alarm options to probably default settings, and this is what its doing. Find a manual for it and see what it says, thats about all I can think of.

Re: Help with alarm

I looked and it is a GM alarm just not factory installed. There is a push button under the kick panel like a reset. If someone has some instructions they could email me that would be great.
