Re: K&N and SuperChip Question

The super chip will not void your warranty, but if you do take it in for service then it is a good idea to reset the ecm back to stock settings. For more info on if it will void your warrant see http://www.superchips.com/customer_s...category_key=9 and look at question #1. And if you are worried about over oilling the filter then you may want to look at the aem brute force. I like it much better than the k&n filters.

Re: K&N and SuperChip Question

Wow thanks guys...and this website listed at SuperChips really helped too!

I looked at the Brute Force website and they say why to buy their product but don't back it up with any performance data...just...It Beats The Competition!

Re: K&N and SuperChip Question

I have a K&N FIPK and love it. Filter comes pre-oiled and you only need to re-oil it every 100,000 mi. (although I do mine every 50k). As long as you don't over oil it and let it dry completely before reinstalling it, you'll be good to go.

Oh and don't get the kit with the chrome intake, it conducts a lot of heat and heats up the air going to your engine.

If you get the tuner, I would be interested to know how you like it.

Re: K&N and SuperChip Question

Re: K&N and SuperChip Question

Superchips is a waste of money. I had one on my 01 and it made little difference and you cant change torque management or timing. Now i have a custom black bear pcm tune and its much better and way cheaper than a programmer. Check out www.blackbearperformance.com. I dunno if it would void warranty tho.
