need some help please
i own a 1997 K1500 4x4, and when it is in 4x4 it makes a wobbly metal to metal clunk noise in the drivers side front, sounds like a bad u joint but we just replaced the front shafts and all the brakes and greased everything that could be greased, we were told it could be a wheel bearing but wouldnt it make the noise all the time?? we were thinking maybe it could be a lockout.....
thanks for any help |

If the wheel bearing is loose, it could definately cause a noise. Unless you upgraded to a solid front axle in this IFS truck, you dont have lockouts. The halfshafts are disconnected at the front differential using a solenoid. Since the differential is under the right side of the truck, I would not expect that to cause a noise in the left, but noises can come from weird places.
