2000 Astro hesitation on acceleration

My 2000 Astro LS RWD with 222,000 kms. Recently had the fuel pump replaced back in July with an original from the auto wreckers. Also had new OEM AC delco wires, rotor and cap done around 200,000 kms. New Plugs were NGK platnium and new air filter. Oil changes every 5000-6000 kms. Tune up helped a bit
.
Recently noticed that I am still having this problem when I acelerate from idle the engine sometimes will bog down and when on the highway trying to pass with the accelertor pedal pushed all the way down it will also hesistate, you can hear the engine rev up but will not speed up right away. If I easy up on the gas pedal and push down slowly and repeat this, I can gan some speed faster than holding it all the way down. It seems to be getting worse over the last week.
I had Mr transmission take it out for a test drive and diagnostic test before I did the tune up back in May and its not a tranmission or torque converter issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions that may help fix this problem as this is my only work and famly vehicle.
Thanks

Check fuel pressure and remove the No Good Kind spark plugs, replace plugs with AC Delco platinums. Check/replace fuel filter. Fuel pressure must be 60psi to 66psi cold engine, pump running, engine off. Pressure must remain above 55psi for 3 to 5 minutes after pump shuts off. Post your results.

Smile Re: 2000 Astro hesitation on acceleration

LHello everyone,
Got the truck up on the hoist today at the mechanic who originally changed the fuel pump out a in July. He changed the fuel filter, a 12 dollar part and after we test drove it, the power loss problem was gone, got full power back on full throttle. We did not have to do a gas pressure test which saved me some money.
I will change the spark plugs back to AC delco platniums on my next tune up schedule.
Thanks again old master. Great forum for information sharing

Glad that's all it was, you have an honest technician. Treat him well and keep him around!
