Thumbs down worst thing for max owner

I have owned my newly purchased 97 max se its got everything and even have parts on order and on thanksgiving while going into an s-turn hit a patch of ice or something loose??? and did two 360's then finshed the whole thing with a graceful 180--facing on coming traffic! good news didnt hit anything but dirt. bad news i used my car to do it. final damage isn't in yet, but the heres the obivious--right front knuckle broken rt frt tire flat. left front fender has a newly aero dynamic brake cooling duct-hehehe--yea right. oil filter grenaded by broken cv shaft--no motor damage. entire front facia including the radiator support moved an 1.5" -2.0" cool new look. newly purchased clear corners---now minus one left corner. left rear quarter dented on bottom and tail light-trunk -quarter panel mis aligned--now. until the insurance compay tells me whats up I guess i'm in limbo- good news though bought the car real cheap and will make double my money if they total it. well wish me luck. by the way progressive has been a great insurance co.

----I'll take a cheese burger fries and one 1997 maxima front clip please--blue if you got it.

The car is worth keeping, I doubt its total'ed. My 97 Maxima was my favorite car, if it didnt have 105k, I would have kept it.

heres the total cost

the total cost of the damages is $4,904.02. so its not totaled and I could've done another 1000.00 bucks damage before that i reached that point. i'll have pics of the damage soon. and the restoration. too bad this happened i was planning onpaying this car off by January.

where is new haven? going to IN for xmas, R U near evansville?--trying to get my uncle in a max there.
you"ll just have to try a little harder if you want to total the max, but you can be proud that you outfoxed Murphy!
Murphy's law--your car will need expensive repairs the day after your car is paid off, and the mile after the warranty runs out.
Murphy is usually right, I hate him(her)!

I'm driving from san jose, ca. I love the drive, drove it straight thru in june, no sleeep--41hrs, returned 10 days later, 38hours--no sleep--2,238 miles in my RX-7, which I mistakenly later sold & bought the Talon TSI AWD, which I will be attempting the journey in this time--wish I was driving my max, but needs new autotranny. Gotta make the trip cause my pa is passing away--truth be known, having lived in Indiana, there is not much there I care for--but most of the folks are very kind and friendly,(like myself, yeah that's the ticket!).
Been to FW a few times, very long ago, also lived in Milwaukee and Davenport, born in Champaign----email is [email protected]

well got it back two days ago

ended up giving my dad my hood, and ordered a carbon fiber hood--they said it would be 3-4 weeks. when i got it back I had mass amounts of work to do. I installed the following-- in two days time, cai, hks cat back, warpspeed y pipe, eibach prokit, reverse indiglo gauges and needles, painted the gauge bezel, trunk mount battery kit, altezza gen 2 carbon fiber tail lights, strut bar, and kyb agx struts. and a short throw shifter. and it all went great. I did all the work my self and the y pipe was a lot easier than I thought it would be. only problems was with two bolts breakin off in the cat, no big problem, just grind and re-drill--and new bolts ta-dah its done, now where the hell is my hood. so there is the update and it only took a month for my car to get out of the body shop--and school starts on monday what a shitty christmas break!!! but now the car performs like a completely different car--better.

Hey Crewchief, I just responded to the other thread. What color is your Max. I drive a lot and have only seen one other black se in town. Also interested in doing a CAI on my baby. I didn't need one to roast some kind in a grand am gt the other night. It was funny how he saw me pull away effortlessly. Hit me up!:flash:
