86 wagon brake ?

the brakes on my 86 wagon dont pull or anything like that so thats why i didn't just add to teh 87 brake post.

my 86 HAD the hydro-boost system and the previous owner pulled it out and replaced it with a standard vac booter setup. now compaired to my grand marquis or even my ram the brakes on this thing feel REALLY soft. it seems like i have to have the pedal almost to the floor before they even feel like they are working. i knwo the rotors are warped, no brake cooling what so ever but not by choice. the original owner, 2 owners ago, put on smoothies hence the warped rotors. but the warped rotors would not cause this lack ofpedal feel right??? everything else seems to work and it stops ok it just seems to soft. any other ideas???

heres what i understood from teh files i got with the car. this car was a trip car for the guy i got it from so not to many miles were put on it.

master cyl new 2 yrs ago
used booster and matched pedal cluster
new cals 2 yrs ago
new shoes 1 yr ago
wheel cyls done same time as shoes
new pads 2 yrs ago

everything as said earlier checks good as far as wear wit the exception of the rotors being warped. so this kinda bugs me as my wife is driving this car on a daily basis as her rabbit is down for major motor work.

tahnx guys!

Re: 86 wagon brake ?

my 87 was the same, i just got mine fixed. the 2 front brake hoses under the black heat wrap or whatever you want to call it, were ballooning and therefore making me have to push the pedal harder to make pressure in the lines. well thats what my shop guy said and my pedal is alot firmer now
