Traction Control / Service Ride Control

Hello All -

I just purchased a 96 Cadillac Sedan Deville v8 4.9 and the SERVICE RIDE CONTROL and TRACTION CONTROL messages appear along with my ABS Light is always on. When I drive the vehicle it swerves back and forth (LIKE A FLOATING MOTION) without me turning the steering wheel. I took it today to a local Shocks and Struts business and he said that all is well and he would not recommend me changing them at this time. I have yet to take it anywhere to get the codes. Does anyone possibly know what could be the issue I am having and the apporx. price to repair this. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE

Re: Traction Control / Service Ride Control

Hi, well first if the car is a 1996, it's a 4.6 liter engine. You need to either read the codes, or get them read to find out what the problem is. It's most likely a sensor that is causing the problems. From there, I can estimate how much to fix it.

Re: Traction Control / Service Ride Control

I Have A 96 With Same Problum. I Took Mine To Caddy Dealer In Las Vegas They Kept My Car For Two Days And Couldn T Find The Problum.. And They Did Not Charge Me .... Anyway I Have A Few Cads... And After A Few Months Of Messing With It I Beleve It To Be A Wheel Sensor On My Car..i Did Not Fix Yet Because It Doesn T Affect The Ride. So I Would Check Wheel Sensor .. Good Luck
