90 Merc Grand Marq. speaker replacement Question

I am trying to change out the factory speakers with new ones and I am not sure how to tell the positive from the negative. I have the wireing diagrams but those dont seem to be much help, and the previous owner did an amp bypass to install a new head unit. Anyway I would welcome any help.

the old speakers should say which terminal is which. if not look at the color codes in your diagrams and match em up. if the PO used aftermarket wireing though you would need to pull out the HU and see which color is which for the seperate speakers.
