I have a 1998 yukon, I just put in a new fuel pump about 3000 miles ago. Now only when it is cold such as in the morning it is hard to start. It will crank just fine but wont fire right away. Most recently its been starting and then dying rite away. When its been warmed up for a while it will start just fine. Its like it does it after it sits for a few hours.

Re: 98 yukon hard to start when cold
I'd get a fuel press gage on it and see if it holds pressure, for starters. The regulators can be troublesome.

Re: 98 yukon hard to start when cold
I will try that, so let me get this rite. In the morning when I know it will give me trouble, I need to hook up the fuel pressure regulator gauge before I start it and check for fuel pressure, rite?
Also where exactly is the fuel pressure regulator and how much does it cost. thanks for the help, its sure is comforting for some free advice and help nowadays.
