sirens

Some of you may remember when I wanted to try to set up air horns on my car but that was a mission failed and now ive done one better...

I bought a loudspeaker thing with a little keyboard that has 4 differnt sirens one being the police siren that I want to install on my car.

The directions are more or less pretty understandable but I just want to run it by you pros before I screw up my car.

Here is a link to the directions (i scanned them)

my questions are:

1- what is a good way to get through the fire wall? Is there a hole made specifially for wires?

2- Where is a 12 volt power source on my car?

3- If if im going to mount the little keyboard box in one of the pull out cup holders where the ashtray is how can i run the wires behind the dash?

I drive a 99 crown vic lx
Thanks alot

Re: sirens

There should be some holes with rubber grommets several places on your firewall. I'd put a hook in the end of a straightened coat hanger and pull the wires rhrough.

Choose a power source that is fused and on only when the car is in the run position of the ignition. That way it won't run down your bat. if left on.

Drill a hole through close to the cup holders you want to mount it at. Then again use a wire hook to pull them through.,

Re: sirens

So in the wiring, I understand that i just need to ground out the -12vdc just on the chasis but how do I actually interface the wire to a fuse? Ive seen a power tap sort of thing where i can put a fuse into a slot then one of the lugs like comes up higher and I can hook something onto it. Do i need to go buy one of those or is there another way?

Also, when i thread the wires through the gaskets where will they come out? does it lead under the dash?

also i have slots open in my power distributer box and my insde box.
Which would be best?

Thanks
MJS
