AutoXray 4000 extended codes

Hello to all.

I'm going to buy my son-in-law an AutoXray EZ Scan 4000 for Christmas. I've also picked up the AutoXray EX Charge 200 Battery Tester (AX200) for $25 to go with it, and I was wondering if it's worth purchasing the four additional software modules (at an additional $120)?

* If anyone is familure with this scanner, how exactly does it work, that is, if you do NOT have the extended codes software installed, does it read out the manufacturer's code number without any explaination -or- does it just not read the extended codes at all?

And if it DOES gives the extended code w/o explaination, can the code be looked up on the internet somewhere?

Thanks in advance,
Dennis

Re: AutoXray 4000 extended codes

I'd go online and ask their tech line.

I did. That's why I came here to ask the real experts.

The tech rep on the phone couldn't find the answer in his cheat sheets.
