Fujimi Autobianchi Abarth

After a VERY long hiatus, I have returned, and hopefully this simple project will get me back in the swing of things so I can tackle the mountain of kits currently inhabiting my closet.

The parts have been primed and the body will get its first coat of paints later today.

Re: Fujimi Autobianchi Abarth

Small update:

So I started painting the outer body panels TS-29 (semi gloss black) when my can suddenly spazzez out on me and dies. The instructions say that the color for the parts is black, so I'm like "oh well, should be ok" and proceeded to add a layer of black. Apparently I was wrong. The resulting bubbling, multi-hued mess is taking a swim in some 99% Iso booze.
On a good note, the interior is coming along fine and the body has just finished receiving 4 mist and 5 wet coats and has a week of curing to look forward to.

Re: Fujimi Autobianchi Abarth

Latest updates...

Body has been painted and is currently airing out before polishing

And I came across another issue. Turns out the little rubber tube like sections Fujimi uses to secure the wheels and the metal axle they are secured to were missing in this kit. I had to improvise by using pieces of rubber band and brass rod. So far its holding up ok.

Interior looks a lot better in real life than in the pics. Still have some touch ups to do here and there, like the seams in the seat and the pinhole in the back of the rear bench, not that you can really see much with the body on. The glass that came with the kit is pretty crap, might replace it with transparent plastic sheet. I also put some flocking in the trunk area.

Cool, never seen this kit before. Looks like a fun little build.
