ecm fuse blows

I'm having this same thing happen to my soon to be 1997 bravada. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the # 9 ECM battery fuse so I can find where I'm grounding out?

Re: ecm fuse blows

This post is getting old and the fix was posted for it.
It is better to start a new thread with your problem.

Give engine and what all it is doing or not doing.
Dead short or just at times.

Fuse 9 on yours feeds fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch circuit and computer.

Re: ecm fuse blows

ok thanks for starting a new thread for me. Its a 1997 bravada 4.3 v6. well its blowing the number 9 fuse ECM battery about five seconds after turning the key to start and letting it go to run. It does crank but won't really start. I tired putting in a 30 to see if it would last longer. it started and ran for maybe a minute but then blew the fuse. When I took the fuse out it was really hot. So I'm sure I'm just shorting out some where.
after searching the net and these fourms I got a couple of ideals but no luck so far. Read about a guy having the same problem. Said he just cleaned off his ground points and that worked for him.
So yesterday I cleaned off the ground connections on the frame and some just behind the drivers side fender and one just below the windshiled on the right. No luck with that.
next I was going to try and see if I can follow the wires from the fuse box to where ever they go and see if I can find something. Going to try that today inless you guys think I should do something else first.
Already ripped the dash apart thinking I'd have more room to follow the wires but behind the gages there's a metal plate. So I spent half my time taking it apart for no reason. Oh well live and learn.
Thanks for any help guys. Looks like i'll be here often.

Re: ecm fuse blows

Orange wire from fuse 9 feeds fuel pump relay and fuel pump part of oil pressure switch.

It Also feeds the computer power.

If only blowing after running.
Check fuel pump amp draw.
If pulling over 6-8 amps it is to much.
And then shorted relay or oil pressure switch.
Unplug oil pressure switch for a test.

The gray wire from fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch feeds the fuel pump.

Re: ecm fuse blows

well guys not really sure what I did but it worked!! not really sure where the problem was solved as I just took everything apart unpluged things then repluged. took the ignition switch out cleaned it off put in back in.
Looked behind fuse box saw some wires that had what looked like white powder on them pulled them apart as they were kind of touching.
then I crawled under the dash moved some wires around. Also checked the wires coming in to engine comparment and pulled them apart. messed with some more wires.
Then I put in all back together. hook the battery back up and it started right up and seems to be running good now.
