sensor cost
hi, I have a 2001 Hyundai Sonata v6 automatic transmission. the malfunction light had been going on and off and the car wasn't very responsive ie. rpm would shoot up to 2000 or 3000 and car wouldn't move (as fast as it used to). so I took it to the mechanics. first guy ran a computer diagnosis, got the error codes, and told me I'd have to take it either to the dealer or transmission specialty shop to run further tests.
long story short, it turned out that there was something wrong with a sensor or something(I'm not sure... this is probably why I'm an easy target) and now I'm being charged ~330 dollars? Am I getting ripped off? Thanks in advance. |

Re: sensor cost
300 bucks to change a sensor doesn't sound too bad, depending on what sensor it is. Do you have any idea what it was called?

Re: sensor cost
It was a output speed sensor for $174. rest was labor. I googled it and didn't find price on these.

Re: sensor cost
It's a little bit much for a speed sensor but a fair price from a dealership. To be honest, that's not soooo bad considering the amount of labour involved.
