Normal Oil Pressure Levels
What are the normal oil pressure levels for the D16. I just installed an oil pressure gauge and I want to see if it's accurate. When warm and at idle it's around the 25-30psi - during driving it reads as high as 100psi at less than 4k rpm. Is this right for our motors??

Re: Normal Oil Pressure Levels
Thats about right. Maybe a little high on the high end put they could easily see 90 psi.

Re: Normal Oil Pressure Levels
Yea, seems right to me, just a little high, but nothing I would worry about. The highest I saw my race car at was around 90, but I never looked at it while I was racing either.

Re: Normal Oil Pressure Levels
Probably just old oil :P
I idled at 25 in my b16 and hit about 66-67 at the top end. But it was also vtec, I never did see the pressure drop that people talked about. Oh and if you think yours is high?! My aurora would run at times up to 120 psi.

Re: Normal Oil Pressure Levels
When we first first first built the engine in the LX, it would peak 6k rpm @ 130 PSI according to the gauge in the ashtray... now it's around 80-ish @ 3k up. idle around 20-30 PSI.. next one I build, I'm going to chamfer the oil holes and remove the oil idler in the block deck. ( that little brass looking plug... it's not necessary, it's just there to block excess oil flow, which it's been figured out, doesn't actually hurt anything.)
