battery light almost always on

The battery light stays on almost all the time in my 98 Mystique. The battery is fine, I even had a new one put it and the light still stays on. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

I don't know, but I think it's a V6. I don't know much about cars.

Re: battery light almost always on

Mine is always on in my 1995. Battery is fine and alternator charges battery. One day I'll buy a code reader and find out what the prob is...

Without doubt I'm sure it'll say my alternator is in some way messed up.

BTW - if you want to have fun...look at a Haynes and see what fun it is to change out an alternator on a 1996 V-6 Mystique.
