my clutch went to mush...

hi.. a little over a week ago I got in to a accident.. I had trouble stopping at a stop sign and I ended up hitting a car... after that I was able to drive my car for a couple of days. But about three days after the accident my clutch went mushy and baisicly is now stuck to the floor..

I dont know anything about cars.. all I know is my car is a 2005 and only has a little over 25,000 is'nt that a little early for my clutch to go out?

is that even what happens when your clutch goes out?

is it something that my accident could have caused or could it have caused my accident?

the only reason I ask is because I still have a warranty on my car, but I'm worried the clutch went out and it won't be covered because of wear and tear...

does any one have any Ideas what eles it could be... or if the clutch actually went out?

Re: my clutch went to mush...

well, in order for a proper "diagnosis" if u can call it that. u may have to be more specific. what do you mean when you say you "had trouble stopping"? as in did ur brakes not work properly, was your clutch engaged at the time? how bad was the accident? obviously not bad enough to prevent you from driving but it could have jarred the linkage to the clutch. 25,000 is not near long enough for a clutch to go out, unless you race/drive like a maniac/or let people drive it who dont know how to drive a stick. if you still have a warranty, take it in. it should be covered under warranty seeing as how a minor accident shouldnt cause anything with the clutch to malfunction. hope this is helpful
