2002 SVT?yes/no
hi everyone, i am looking into getting a focus and i figured i might as well go all out and go for the SVT.
i have found a 2002 with 80k miles and in great shape mechanically with a ram air intake, and pretty much stock other than that. the cd changer is jammed though. the guy is asking $7000 for it. he said the tires will need to be replaced soon too. any advice? |

Re: 2002 SVT?yes/no
that sound about right....try and get a lil bit lower if you can....
if it had 80K, the Clutch TSB must have been done by now. check the clutch pedal for vibrations when operating. The 6-disk CD player had a lot of problems apparently. I never had a problem with mine. You can find the stock units on ebay. |

Re: 2002 SVT?yes/no
Fun little car! I had the 03 SVT (zx5) and it was a blast. I also had the clutch problem and fought with Ford over it. Finally got the clutch replaced (this before the TSB). Sold it and now I really miss it!!
Go for it, but either knock off $500 or have him put on new tires. Good Luck!! |

that sounds like a weak deal... you can find one for a little bit more with less mileage. just do some research. I bought mine at a dealer, had 56k miles on it, paid 10k and it came with new tires, brakes, and all the options except for the EAP

Re: 2002 SVT?yes/no
The stock cd changers don't work well at all. Ford says not to play burned cds cause they are thicker and get jammed. I think they said around 400 dollars for a new replacement. Better off going with an after market unit. Also, you can get a svt suspension kit for around 250$. Good way to save money is to go with a plain old zx3 and upgraded. Good luck.
