Unhappy Check Engine!

Please advise why the CHECK ENGINE on my 1995 BMW 325i lit up for 5 secs everytime I start and turned off the engine. The computer also indicates that the WASHER FLUID LOW and CHECK COOLANT LEVEL + I checked, as well as the mechanic and both washer and coolant fluid are full. No leakage on the washer container or coolant, can you please advise what is wrong? I already had the washer pump replaced and the mechanic says it should clear the error, but it hasn't. I would like to ask for your kind feedback! Appreciate your forthcoming response.

Re: Check Engine!

Coolant and washer fluid sensors will trigger this response if they have failed. Coolant sensor failing is a common problem, I have replaced three on my '90 325ic over the years.

Re: Check Engine!

You may need a leveling switch radiator (goes in the bottom of the expansion tank) and a leveling switch cooling, goes in lower side of the coolant reservoir. One source is autohausaz and bimmerparts is another. If you Email me [email protected] I will send a long list of online vendors.
