After Market Radio Install

I want to install a sony radio into my 1989 325i. I've installed this radio into several other cars, but the wiring on the BMW is a bit wierd. I've got a wiring schematic, but the colors on the paper don't always match the colors on the wire. Also I'm not sure which wire to use as the power source or if I should ground the radio to the chasis or to the ground wire from the dash..... anyone out there have any experience with this that they could give me some tips on? Thanks.

Re: After Market Radio Install

Check with Crutchfield. They have a harness that will allow you to remove the plug from the back of the radio and will allow you to take the radio pigtail & splice it into the aftermarket harness that will then plug into your cars wiring! Just did this on my '94 E36.

As for brakes, get some Cool Carbon pads from Bavarian Autosports. NO DUST OR SQUEEL!! You'l be checking your mirrors in a panic stop to see if anyone is going to hit YOU with these pads! I put them on with their gas slotted rotors and what a differance!
