Door Locks

my outside door handles are broke and the child locks are engaged, is there a way to open doors?

Re: Door Locks

If it is a lift handle you might be able to drill a small hole to tie a wire to and lift depending on how it is broken.

If it pulls straight out you might drill a small hole and put a screw in to grab with pliers. Again depending on how its broken.

Good Luck.

Re: Door Locks

another thought is to just go in the trunk, take off all the nuts on the back seat and it has these hook things. you have to "unhook" the seat. You should be able to pull this off from the trunk just look closely and it should be kinda staright forward.

Re: Door Locks

Unfortunately, on mine anyway, there's one fastener holding the internal door panels on... that fastener faces inside the door jam.
If that wasn't the case (on your's) you might be able to pull the door panels off and move the child safety lever from the inside.

On another note, several folks here have had door opening problems, they were able to use brute force to open the door, one reported having to replace a broken latch afterward.

Re: Door Locks

Yes the master door key, I like it Steve. I'll have to borrow that from you some time next time I lock my keys in the car.

That's a trickey one, are you sure that the child locks are set? I guess your best bet would be to try to grab hold of what is left of the outside door handles. Use (vice grips) or something to try to pull them out and open the door. You should be able to open the door from the outside with the child locks on right guys? I don't know for sure, I don't have any children and never use the safety locks on my cars. I've got some door handles that should fit your car, if you ever get your doors open. [email protected]
