CODE P0507 High RPM Problem
I've had the SES light on for a few weeks now I had it checked and AutoZone fella's told me the code was P0507 "PCM detected higher engine RPM then expected". The troubleshooting talks of the IAC Motor (not a clue where it's at really). It has been having trouble settling down when breaking seems like it stays revved. Just wondering if anyone has had the problem before and could point me in a direction. Thanks so much.

Re: CODE P0507 High RPM Problem
The IAC motor is located on the driver side of the throttle body. Most easily accessed by removing the engine cover. The IAC is a stepper motor that moves in very small increments called "counts". To acurately diagnose a problem with it, an ODBII scan tool capable of reading the "counts" must be used. Without the proper scan tool, you can check the engine over for vacuum leaks, and try removing the IAC and cleaning the passages with carb cleaner, but do not spray carb cleaner directly on the IAC pintle.

Re: CODE P0507 High RPM Problem
that was it rough idle due to the housing for the IAC being extremely full of gunk
